Rob-Play, born and raised in Washington Heights, New York City, a very interesting and creative individual to say the least. A man of many talents, a man associated with many businesses, such as digital marketing, nightlife entertainment, and sports management, but yet music is the common ground that keeps him balanced.

If you ask Rob about his DJ skills or performances, he claims “I’m not a DJ, I’m an Entertainer” though one would question so how does he continue to entertain hundreds all around. “Honestly, I have a lot of respect for all DJs in all levels, from the mainstream club bangers to the mobile DJs at the high-school prom, but I just keep it simple and do me. Music is a motivation for me in this transitional culture,” said Rob-Play. Further explaining, “when it comes to DJing, you are transitioning between two different sets, side-1 and side-2, this is something I’ve been doing for over 15 years in my career in technology: flash animation, web development, video productions, etc. You are going from one frame to another. If you have a good taste in music and if you have a good understanding in transitions then you also can deliver a great performance,” said Rob-Play.

Rob comes from a background of the Dominican Republic descent, which is a Latino culture primarily known for their music genre in Merengue, Bachata, and Salsa. The Merengue rhythm dominates the music with its swift beats from the güira or maracas percussion sections, while banging drums such as the tambora is the most characteristic feature that stands out. Rob-Play’s culture plays a tremendous role in the style of music selection and mixing; whether you’re jumping around to Latin soul house sounds or grooving out to a 90s classic Reggaeton dembow remix, he choice of play will always get a touch of that Latin Caribbean rhythm. Rob-Play considered himself well-rounded as a music fan and in the music business, which explains his continuing delivery in complete entertainment.

DJ Ludwin started DJing at the age of 16 during High School.  I always had an interest in music and musical instruments.  A good friend from school taught me the basics of DJing.  I started working with small companies setting up sound equipment for private events.  As I got more involved in the music entertainment industry, I started my own DJ company "After Dark Entertainment" Chicago DJs.  I worked at many Weddings, Quinceañeras, Latino events, high school parities, corporate parties, and many more.  I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where I hosted many Latino events as a DJ.  Some of the night clubs I've worked for in Chicago are Club 720s, Chromium Night Club, Excalibur Night Club, Club Mambo, Green Dolphin, and many more.  I have also had the opportunity to open for concerts to Elvis Crespo, Aventura, and Victor Manuelle.  It's hard to list all the types of music I enjoy playing but I grew up with house music, love salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton and hip-hop.  Music is the universe's gift to our ears.

He is very versatile and makes sure that while mixing on Cdj’s or Turntables or Virtual there is always something for everyone. From 1999 until now, he’s been making numerous house parties in Puerto Rico, Michigan and Ohio go crazy. In his spare time DJ Canny has made the crossover into producing. He has produced various Reggaeton beats for the Ohio Rap group Somos Tres. . DJ canny has become very proficient not only with Reggaeton music but also with various styles such as Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Latin house, assorted Mexican music, Hip-Hop, R&B, along with many other types of music. Toledo has named DJ Canny as “The Best Latin DJ” of the city of Toledo."

DJ Dixon has been in the business for 12 years mixing it up from college events to Wedding parties. His road to the profession was sparked in high school when he would go over to his friends house to hear him DJ. However, it was until his college years that he started buying his first set of dj equipment and the magic began. For the past 4 years, DJ Dixon has been traveling around the states to perform on various Salsa congresses while he gets the crowd wanting to dance non-stop. His strong points in the business is not only the music selections but having the ability to entertain the crowd by pleasing them on what they want to hear - "Good music".

DJ Helio  Originally starting as a rock DJ in 1997, I now focus on salsa and tropical beats. While at the ‘ Dancing Under the Stars ’ program at the Alder Planetarium in 2000, I was struck by the dance instructor Maricza Valentin from Latin Rhythms dance studio. I fell in love with salsa and the music of Ismael Rivera and Frankie Ruiz. Since then, I have been determined that learning to dance salsa is essential to feel the salsero’s passion for the rhythm. 

I’ve been a DJ for the CHICAGO SALSA CONGRESS each year since 2006 and a guest DJ for the 2009 Cincinnati Salsa Fest & appearing at the 2010 Detroit Salsa Congress.

DJ Helio has been a professional DJ for more than 14 years working throughout the suburbs’ Salsa Nightclubs and private parties providing a large selection of music from Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Reggaeton.
